Well i dont think there will be a driver out for vista. Wonkanoby, I do not want to setup an array, because an array is not hot swappable.

The driver works under Vista off an installation disk. If you think it can be solved, what is the solution?

Did you properly install the Promise drivers? Take the drives to another system and format them one at a time. So we are all screwed at this point.

Thank you Wonkanoby, I know some months have passed since your answer, but I didn't succeed at first and decided to give it another try when rebuilding my system. What do you need to know about free software? So I guess they were properly installed from the beggining. So there is no way it could be the right one vista needs.

You do need to do it for the Promise controller as we've been telling you. Then under installation, i change the cdrom, and say search, then it found the promise fastrack driver and i push next, intel t5200 driver and then it start working.

Hello again Henry, You're right, Promise seem way different from Intel chipset! Once Vista is loaded there is an update available that installs a Microfsoft driver.

It won't read the files within any directories on the media. Once you install the Promise drivers you should be able to get the drives setup without too much difficulty.
